    Notes:

    Judge Trewhitt was a civic leader in Bradley County. In 1861, though he was in his 60's, he was arrested and imprisioned by the Confederacy without trial after Union sympathizers burned several bridges in East Tennessee. Despite numerous appeals for his release and testimony that he actively discouraged participation in the rebellion againts the Confederacy, he was not released, and he died in prison camp in Mobile, Alabama.     Judge Trewhitt's parentage is not documented, and various unsourced online trees differ about who his parents were. I'm going with GRid=39690158, which says that Judge Trewhitt was the son of Levi Truitt and Susanna Morgan. There is some weak documentation of both Levi Truitt and Susanna Morgan, primarily through generic marriage record sources (e.g. "International Marriage Records"), but only ambiguous information about their birth places. (See their profiles, both linked from this one), and served as a justice of the peace and state legislator in Texas for many years.
